Let's face it, the only reason the offshore dental lab market exists is profitability.

Does the lure of increased profits compromise the element of public trust?

Well, when dental crowns are delivered to the patient with lead contamination or Bacterial Colonies living on the surface of the restoration, I believe profits have become a priority over trust.

If the patient wants to save money and wants their dental prosthetics made in China, then in a free market they should have that choice. All the patient needs is disclosure. I believe if given a choice, the patient would want their dentists using the best quality and safest dental labs possible and would prefer their prosthetics to be made on American Soil. But let's give them the choice.
